Cerradilla from Bodegas Vallemayor is a remarkable Rioja, crafted from the estate’s prized 60-year-old vines. Produced only in exceptional vintages from a limited harvest, this wine blends 90% Tempranillo with 10% Mazuelo and is aged for 20 months in new French oak. The vineyard of La Cerradilla, set on a sun-drenched south-southeast slope with chalky, stony soil, lends the wine its distinctive structure and depth.
The result is a beautifully balanced and complex Rioja with an intense bouquet of ripe red fruits, layered with notes of spice, vanilla, and toasted oak. On the palate, it is velvety and full-bodied, with a long, elegant finish that lingers beautifully. A wine of real character and finesse, Cerradilla is best enjoyed with roast meats, rich stews, or mature cheeses.
