An Interview with Think Wine Group

June 21, 2024 10:58 am

As a company with Liverpool at its heart Hops and Barley are proud to support brands from our heartland.  We’re proud to highlight the outstanding Liverpool based wine brand ThinK Wine Group.  Their quest to bring high quality, low calorie, low sugar Prosecco to market has led to rave reviews, and a host of awards.

We at Hops and Barley were blown away at the attention to detail in the creation to the wines, the branding, and the desire to create a wine with minimal impact on the environment.  In fact, there was so much to think about rather than us, we asked the team at ThinK Wine Group to talk about it for us!

We asked ThinK Wine Group eight searching questions, this was what they had to say.

What was the inspiration behind the founding of ThinK Wine Group?

Our Founder Katherine Jones was in search of a health-conscious wine after years of attending events in the Social Media world where there were no such options available. After speaking with others about this subject, they agreed that this was a huge gap in the market.

This is why Katherine decided to start the process of creating her very own premium, low sugar, low calorie, low sulphite, vegan and organic Prosecco and Sparkling Rosé, not just for herself, but for others in the same position.

Are there any unique traditions or techniques from the region that you incorporate into your vineyard management or wine production?

Yes! Our Vineyard, located in Treviso, Italy, is B-Corp Certified, vegan and organic. These are all things that we have carried through into our process here in the UK. Our family-run vineyard believes in quality over quantity and treating their grapes well.  This includes their process of each grape being hand-picked for each batch.

How do you achieve low sugar and low-calorie content in your wines without compromising on flavour?

We harvest only the highest quality Glera and Pinot Grigio Grapes meaning that we do not require a dosage at the end of our production process. The quality of the grapes also allows us not to compromise on taste which is great as this was our main goal!

You are B Corporation certified, how important is minimising ThinK’s environmental impact to you?

Minimising ThinK’s environmental impact is very important to us. It has been a huge part of our mission since day one. This was not a cheap, quick or easy qualification to get however, we completed it, as it demonstrates to customers and suppliers our standards and values.

What are some of the favourite foods you like to pair with The Prosecco and the Sparkling Rose?

With ThinK Prosecco we recommend fried fish, tempura vegetables, tofu and fine meats. ThinK Sparkling Pinot Grigio Rosé pairs deliciously with any fish and vegetable dishes, Tofu dishes and light sauces.

What random ThinK Wine fact are you most proud of?

We are so proud that our customer base loves ThinK so much that a huge demand was created for a ThinK branded Vintage VW to serve Prosecco, Rosé and other cocktails / Spritz at events, weddings etc. We have completed some events throughout the UK already and are booked and busy for the rest of 2024. After attending these events we have experienced rave reviews.  You can follow “VANencia’s” adventures on Instagram @thinkwineonwheels

Are there any plans to partner with any chefs, restaurants, or other brands to create unique experiences or products, or are there any upcoming collaborations that you’re excited about?

We are currently working on multiple premium restaurant collaborations and Influencer collaborations however these are top secret for now!

We’d like to thank ThinK Wine Group for talking to us, and we look forward to strengthening our on going relationship. Our commitment to local businesses is important to us and we are pleased ThinK Wine Group have chosen to work with us. You can discover more about their excellent work on their website.
